about bothmade
About Bothmade — an independent web and Apple development studio in London.
Both halves.
One studio.
Most studios can do the web or they can do native, and the other half gets subcontracted to someone you never meet. We do both, in-house, which is the entire reason the studio is called what it is — and why it stays small enough that nothing gets lost between hands.

Why small
Staying small is a choice we keep making, not a stage we're trying to grow out of. An agency that adds people has to add process, and the process is what you end up paying for: the account manager who relays your notes, the standup where your project is one line, the estimate written by someone who will never open the codebase.
Here, none of that exists. Your project is one of a handful we are working on, the person who quotes it is the person who builds it, and nothing you say has to survive being passed along to stay accurate.
The trade is real and worth saying out loud: we take on fewer projects than a larger studio, so sometimes the honest answer is that we can't start when you need us to. We'd rather tell you that than take the work and quietly queue it.
How it works, concretely
You see the number before we start
Pricing is published, itemised, and configurable on the site — not quoted after a discovery call designed to find out what you can afford. It moves if you ask for more, never as a line item at the end.
Price it yourself →Half books it, the rest waits for you
50% on signing starts Discovery, 25% is due when you approve the design, and the last 25% when the build is ready to launch. That is what the checkout actually charges — no surprise full invoice at the start.
A working link every week
Not a status email. Every week of Build there is something you can open and click, which is the only way feedback arrives while it is still cheap to act on.
We are still here after launch
Shipping is not the exit. We stay on to fix what breaks, ship what you learn from real users, and answer the phone — and if we ever go dark on your project without explanation, the agreement says that is grounds for a refund.
The records behind the process
These are the practical records already built into how a project runs. They are not testimonials or claims about client results.
Written scope
The proposal and signed project agreement record the deliverables, timeline, payment gates and change process before Build begins.
Design approval
Design approval is an explicit project gate. The second payment is tied to that approval, so the record and the invoice describe the same milestone.
Weekly working build
During Build, the progress record is a link you can open and use every week — not a status email asking you to imagine what changed.
Dated performance report
The public report below records the tool, device profile and run date alongside the scores, so the numbers can be repeated instead of taken on trust.
Read the current report →The people
The people who own the studio are the people who build the work — there is nobody above us to escalate to, and your project is never handed down.

Evan
Co-owner · Sales & client lead
Your first call, your scope, your number. Every question you send lands with him directly — no account layer in between — and he stays your point of contact from kickoff to launch.
He is the person you email, and the person who answers. There is no account manager translating your notes into a ticket for someone you never meet, because there is no one else for him to hand them to. That also means the number he quotes is one he has to stand behind — he can't pass a bad estimate to a delivery team and walk away from it.
Evan leads new-project conversations, scoping, estimates and client communication at Bothmade. He remains the direct point of contact from the first brief through launch.

Kiana Arabpour
Co-owner · Design & engineering
Every screen you approve and every line of code that ships is hers — designed against your real content, then built by the same hands, so what launches matches what you signed off.
Design and engineering in the same pair of hands, which removes the most expensive handoff in this industry: the one where a designer draws something a developer then quietly reinterprets. Nothing gets approved that cannot be built, and nothing gets built that drifts from what was approved — because the person doing the second thing is the person who drew the first.
Kiana leads design and engineering across Bothmade's web and native Apple work. She designs the approved interface and builds the production implementation, removing the usual design-to-development handoff.
Don't take our word for it
Everything above is a claim about how we work. Here is the part you can check: 80 write-ups of real decisions — what the options were, which one we took, and what it cost us. Read these 3 and you'll know how we'd think about your project before you ever email us.
Longevity
Built to last
Why we reach for boring, proven tools over whatever launched last week — and the one case where we do the opposite.
Read it →Correctness
Why batch writes get wrapped in one transaction
Import five records and the fourth fails — do you keep the first three, or nothing? The unglamorous decision that decides whether your data can be trusted.
Read it →Platform depth
Vision Pro isn't a stretched iPad
Windows, volumes, and immersive spaces aren't three sizes of one screen. What it looks like to learn a platform properly instead of porting to it.
Read it →And the site you're reading is the other half of the answer. Every interaction on it — the seam on the homepage, the sheets that stack as you scroll, the way this page loads — is ours, built with the same tools we'd use on yours. All 80 posts.
Measured, not claimed
We have no launched clients yet, so we are not going to show you numbers from somebody else’s project. What we can show you is this site, measured the same way we would measure yours.

And the part a score cannot tell you
A score is a photograph of one afternoon. These are rules this codebase refuses to ship without — they run on every change, and breaking one fails the build rather than waiting to be noticed.
No text below the contrast floor
A test reads every component in the app and refuses a tint that cannot reach 4.5:1 on the surface behind it.
No text too small to read
Nothing in the tools we work in renders below 12px, checked by scanning the source rather than by eye.
One price, in one currency
The catalogue is the single source of every figure on the site; a test refuses a second hand-written copy of it.
No horizontal scroll on a phone
Measured at 390px across every public page, on every change.
Keyboard-reachable throughout
Menus trap and restore focus, every control has a name, and tests hold both.
Where we are
We're early, and the client list is short. If you go first, what that buys you is the whole studio's attention and a team with every reason to make your project the one it points at for the next two years. There is no version of this where you are a small account.
Bothmade is the trading name of Kiana Arabpour, a UK sole trader. We work from London, and our public business address is Suite 695, 80A Ruskin Ave, Welling DA16 3QQ, London, United Kingdom. Everything reaches us at info@bothmade.studio.

Our public studio profile is on GitHub. Project repositories stay private.
Now you know
who'd be building it.
Tell us what you're making and you'll get a real answer from the people above — within one working day, in writing, not a discovery call booked by a bot. If we're not the right fit we'll say so in the first reply.
